The handmade paper mill at Velké Losiny is a unique technical monument that still exists as a functional aggregate of historical buildings associated with paper manufacture from the late 16th century up to the present. The current premises of the paper mill consist of eight buildings, most of which are interconnected as required by technical operations. The oldest part of the plant is the millrace, left over from when it was reconstructed from an older corn mill. After WWII the paper mill was nearly closed down permanently, but the manufacture of handmade paper and the historic complex in Velké Losiny was rescued.
